THEY LAUGH AT ME!

by

It’s become common for Majestic to have a traffic jam on special occasions like Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Ramzan or any other holiday. It is a challenging job to catch a bus or train to a place outside the city during such occasions. But I have found a way to beat the jam. When I said I would walk to the city railway station from Chamarajpet, everyone laughed at me. But I can reach the station within 25 minutes , whereas a bus or an auto, during the festival rush, will take a minimum of 45 minutes. My route is quite different from that of vehicles. I start from my office in Chamarajpet via Madhuvana Hotel signal and Mysore Road and take a right turn at the Church signal towards Cottonpet road, and continue walking straight up to the station. Even if we have our own vehicle, we have to pass Royan Circle, Chamrajpet police station, Mysore-Market road and Goodshed road. But since I go by walk, no one will stop me at Sahitya Parishat Road, Mysore Road and on Cottonpet road. No one-way and no no entry for me! When I started this venture , I walked on Goodshed road, and I realised that I could have come by Cottonpet road only after reaching Majestic. Because we have forgotten our walking shortcuts, as we always move on vehicles!
